About Us
IN-STeP is a not-for-profit community based organisation that began in 1995 under its original name: the Townsville Thuringowa School Industry Training Program. Today IN-STeP has grown into an organisation that not only continues its work placement practices, but has included working with youth at risk, disengaged youth and is a conduit to the community as a whole regarding career information, services and assistance. IN-STeP has also developed a reputation for assisting all young people with advice on their futures or connecting them to the support agencies that can assist with their individual needs.
IN-STeP is an organisation serving the wider community.
IN-STeP is overseen by a Management Committee with wide representation from community including employers, industry training groups, local Government, other community organisations and the education sector. Our organisation prides itself on supporting all stakeholders whether it is young people, parents, teachers or school administrators, employers or community members.
As IN-STeP has advanced its services and programs over the years, we have learnt the importance of a community approach in the development of our youth. We recognise the value and understand that without our stakeholders, partners and community support, all services and programs would only be temporary solutions.
Team IN-STeP has dedicated, motivated and qualified staff that acknowledges the nurturing of our youth is no easy task for one organisation or group of programs/services. Our programs work in conjunction with other youth service providers in the community and we value the sharing of information and resources, many of which can be downloaded from resources page.
So if you would like to learn more about IN-STeP, our team would be happy to discuss our organisation and programs with you.
‘Every success is built on the ability to do better than good enough!’
